I have been with Image Reborn Foundation for the past three years working with breast cancer clients of all ages, in treatment and in recovery at their Park City, Utah Retreats. Breast cancer does not run in my family as far as I know. I was adopted as an infant from El Salvador, I was raised in Logan Utah. I have done a small amount of research into my heritage, 23andMe genetic testing showed few to no markers for me to experience breast cancer in my future if I maintain a healthy lifestyle.
This Spring 2019 my dear friend lost her fight with breast cancer. I am so glad this organization was here for Mieke, who was fortunate enough to attend two retreats over the years. She gave her fellow attendees hope, strength and her humor- the minute you met her she was an instant friend. It was never about her, always about others. Mieke has inspired me to laugh often, tell family and friends daily how much I love and appreciate what they mean to me and how they help me grow. Each and every day I try to live to be my best self.
It has been a privilege to work with these beautiful woman and give my support, love, and compassion though massage. What an incredible opportunity it is for these women to bond with and hold each other through this time in their lives, to teach others what is the most important part of living, and to slow down and enjoy the moments we create.
